The images displayed on the nuLOOM website are designed to showcase the most accurate colors possible. However, it is important to note that the actual rug colors, sizes, and patterns may vary slightly depending on how the rug is made and the specific size ordered. This is due to the nature of the handmade process and the fact that each rug is unique to the artisan who wove it.

Additionally, due to differences in monitor resolutions and lighting, customers may notice a slight difference in color between the displayed image and the actual rug. These variations are not considered defects, as each handmade rug is a unique piece of art.

Regarding the care and handling of the rugs, customers may notice some creases and bunching in the pile and around the corners when they first unroll their new rug. These waves will typically flatten within 2-3 weeks as the rug is used. To help flatten the rug, customers can try the following techniques:

Back Rolling: Roll the carpet out, then roll it back up reversely with the backside up. Let it sit rolled up reversely for a day or two, or until it flattens out.

Heavy Objects: Lay a piece of heavy furniture or other objects on affected areas for a day or two, or until it flattens out. If the corners are sticking up, curl them back and place heavy objects on the affected areas in the opposite direction.

Heat: As a last resort, customers can place the rug over a cleared concrete or similar area, such as a driveway or sidewalk, during dry, sunny conditions. Allow the rug to be positioned for optimal sunlight for up to two hours, or longer if necessary, to allow the rug to absorb the sun's heat.

Blow Dryer: If a large concrete patch with optimal sunlight is not accessible, customers can flip the rug over and use a hair dryer on the affected areas to heat up the creases. Always hold the hair dryer 7 to 12 inches away from the rug, moving it side to side on a medium setting, as heat can sometimes cause the backing to melt.

The nuLOOM rugs are composed of 65% wool, 25% polyester, and 10% cotton, and are hand-woven in India without any backing.
